LinkedIn deleted my profile!

Filed under: Social Networking — thatsoftwareguy @ 12:28 pm

For some reason, my That Software Guy profile on LinkedIn has been deleted. I emailed them asking “WTF?” but haven’t received anything more than a automatic response email so far. I sure would like to get those contacts and referrals back … :(

  1. What a pain! After two weeks of being passed from rep to rep, their response was “we don’t allow people to register under pseudonyms, so we deleted your profile.” Ouch. Not, “we suspended it pending an update to your name,” but rather “we deleted it.” Gone. Poof!

I’m always nervous about investing time and energy into content that I don’t host myself, because of the possibility that it will be vandalized, accidentally de-linked or just arbitrarily deleted. My LinkedIn experience is a perfect example of this.

  3. LinkedIn deleted me. I had two accounts and wanted one I hadn’t used purged and they purged both. How did you get in touch with them? It seems to take them weeks to respond to an email.

  4. Tim, if my experience is any guide, the accounts are gone and you’ll have to start again. Good luck.
