My name is Scott Wilson, and I am the proprietor of a microconsultancy called That Software Guy. In the past, the business was my main source of income, and I did contract work in the area of financial IT. These days, I have a full-time gig, so I run the business as a side project.
The majority of the work That Software Guy does now is in customing Zen Cartâ„¢. I talk about my projects on my home page, and I have a newsletter that goes out periodically to promote the latest gold-plating I’ve done. But neither of these seemed the right venue for sharing the interesting shopping cart, e-commerce and small e-business related news that comes across my screen every day. That’s why I decided to start this blog – to aggregate some of the things I’m reading (I never sleep) so that others may enjoy them too. The scope of this blog will be much larger than the scope of my work at That Software Guy; I intend to cover a variety of cart implementations, as well as other matters of interest.
At the start of the week, I write a post called MMM: the Monday Morning Motivator. I hope you find it encouraging and inspirational. Then, at the end of the week, I write a post called “Weekend Break,” that includes fun and silly things I have seen recently.
Disclosure: In addition to doing consulting work in the area of shopping cart software, I work for ratings wrangler Nielsen Media Research. However, I don’t speak for Nielsen, and the opinions expressed in this blog are mine alone.
I hope you enjoy my blog. Good luck in your e-business!
Sincerely,
Scott Wilson,
That Software Guy
